Drug Prevention is also an integral part of camp activities and is woven into several activities.  Adventure Therapy, utilizing the elements of our ropes challenge course, offers metaphors that confront negative attitudes and beliefs and is a key ingredient in the drug prevention program at Deer Run.  In addition, an interactive mock courtroom drama called, “Drugs on Trial” gives participants the opportunity to explore various substance abuse issues in a creative, interesting format.  We can also offer workshops on diversity, obesity/nutrition, alcohol and teen sexuality issues, including STDs and AIDs.
